This mega-bid for the Sydney Light Rail included the future operator and supplier of the new 67m coupled light rail vehicles which carry 450 passengers (the equivalent of over nine buses), as well as the more typical design, construction and financing elements. Changing the way Sydney flows, the new 12km line runs from Circular Quay down George Street and links to the southeast suburbs of Sydney, opening up 1km of George Street as a pedestrian zone. As Sydney grows to love this legacy, the project has already created over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
